Museum event series

– past project

V&A logoA highly successful event series which drew a new fashion-forward audience to discover the V&A’s theatre collections hidden underground in Covent Garden.

We conceived and produced Art of Tease at the V&A Theatre Museum in 2005 to mark the emergence of the underground neo-burlesque movement and celebrate the diverse history of performance. The series sold out and generated a huge amount of attention from both press and style pundits, inspiring many subsequent imitators.

“Instant hedonism on tap…

an intoxicating and informative experience.”

Art of Tease brought together an eclectic mix of performers, personalities and historians to explore the social context of burlesque in Britain. We revealed the Art of Seduction, followed by the Art of Dressing, the Art of Bohemia, and finally the Art of Exotica.

The series culminated in the Art of Tease Ball and throughout, the audience was treated to a heady mix of performance past and present.

The potential four part TV series is proposed to be hosted by one of the well known queens of the scene as we join in her exploration of British burlesque.
